Hi Penguins,

This is not a drill! The Cave Expedition has arrived, but things have gone astray from our plans. It appears that the ongoing construction in the Pet Shop has caused a rockslide to occur down in the Underground. There have also been reports of mysterious figures trapped within the rubble. It’s time to gear up and embark on a rescue mission!

First off, there are no Island Quests or Stamps for this event. However, Rory is here to help with our expedition, and by meeting him you’ll be able to earn his stamp along with a brand new giveaway! Here are some scheduled meetups to try and meet him:

Dig Sites

It appears that rocks are blocking our way into the Cave Mine to begin our adventure. In order to head in, you’ll have to jackhammer or shovel at a Dig Site! Apparently, you can find a handful of treasures while you dig! These include: coins, rocks, shards of an Amethyst Pin, and an exclusive item! Just keep drilling until you see a message pop up or you no longer hear jackhammer noises! These dig sites will appear throughout the caves.

Cave Maze

We’ve navigated through a snow maze and an underwater maze, now it’s time to tackle a Cave Maze! Carefully find your way through the rubble and ruin in order to get closer to whatever is deep within these caves. Be careful! It's very dark in these caves. Be sure to use either a Mining Helmet or a Lantern to help see better, both of which can be found at the Cave Mine. The maze will be divided into three different sections. At the end of every section, you’ll be greeted with a Dig Site as mentioned above.

According to Rory, we should hopefully reach our target by the end of the entire maze. Throughout the maze, be on the lookout for pieces of wood. In each section, there should be two pieces, which will add up to six pieces total. They will certainly come in handy towards the end of the Expedition!

Wrapping Up

That just about covers everything! Before we fully wrap up, we would like to give a shoutout to our entire team for putting endless work into this event. This is something we’ve been putting together for quite some time now, and we’re very excited to see everyone watch it unfold. However, we’d also like to give a few specific shoutouts:

According to Rory, if all goes well, we should reach our target on July 12 and we’ll keep the expedition going for penguins until July 14! We appreciate your patience as we got this event up and running.
