Aunt Arctic's Article #32
Hello, penguins!
Welcome to another edition of Aunt Arctic’s Article. Last time, we recapped the Medieval Party, taking another look at the weather forecast, and took a glimpse at this month’s Penguin Style! This week, we have further updates on the storm!
Top Story
Severe Weather Warning!
The storm clouds that have been lingering over the island the past week have begun to produce rain! This is a first in our island’s history! In fact, here is a weather forecast for the upcoming week:
Monday: Rain
Tuesday: Rain
Wednesday: Rain
Thursday: Rain
Friday: Rain
Saturday: Rain
Sunday: Rain
In addition to this, the wind has also begun to pick up quite a bit! Even though the weather may be lousy, penguins have begun to throw a pirate-themed celebration in honor of the return of Captain Waitaha! You may remember them from the Island Adventure Party all the way back in August 2022. They have a rather complex backstory…
I asked if they would be interested in an interview, but for the first time in my career, I was sadly declined one. They claimed that they were too busy planning to keep everybody safe, which is entirely understandable! Perhaps one day I’ll be able to sit down with them, but for now I think we need as many penguins as possible helping them with whatever they need!
Extra Extra!
Ask Aunt Arctic
Dear Aunt Arctic,
How do you pronounce Waitaha’s name?
- smartbird4
Dear smartbird4,
With Waitaha stepping foot on our island for the very first time, this is a very important question to ask! You wouldn’t want to make a bad first impression by mispronouncing their name!
The official pronunciation of Waitaha is “Why-TAH-hah”. If that seems a tad complicated, this is how I look at pronouncing it! Simply just split the name in half, Why/taha!
You start off with “why” like you’re asking a question, then “taha”! I hope this helps and that you’re able to meet them! Be sure to spread the word too, I believe they don't enjoy having their name mispronounced!
Dear Aunt Arctic,
Are there any other islands other than Club Penguin? If so, will we be able to eventually explore them?
- Shaan4
Dear Shaan4,
There are in fact other islands outside of Club Penguin! We were actually able to explore some of them during the party I mentioned earlier, the Island Adventure Party in August 2022!
These islands included the Swashbuckler’s Trading Post, which was an island featuring all sorts of rare (and expensive) treasures. Then there was Dinosaur Island, which had us interact with dinosaurs as if we went back in time! Lastly, there was Waitaha’s Island, a dark and stormy hideaway quite hidden on the average map.
There are probably many other islands out there to uncover! It would be very cool to see what they have to offer. Perhaps one day Rockhopper and/or Waitaha will take us on another voyage!

Poetry
Jump on the squares, make a smart choice,
With every move, I hear my inner voice.
Collecting those bags, I can’t let them fall,
I’m the Thin Ice Icer, I’ll conquer it all!
But watch out, it’s slippery there,
One wrong step, and we could disappear!
With strategy and skills, I’ll make my way,
In this icy-flame game, I’m here to play!
- Faiz Flopper
The wind is rough, the air is cold,
The skies are dark and gray.
But while we’re in our cozy igloos,
All that seems to go away.
No matter the weather,
We’ll chat, dance and play.
And all of us together,
Will make the brightest, warmest day.
