Aunt Arctic's Article #3

Hello, penguins!

Welcome to another edition of Aunt Arctic’s Article. Last week, we were able to uncover what party is underway, which is none other than the Fashion Festival! This week, I was able to sit down with our mystery guest for an extended interview, and they’re finally ready to reveal their identity. Without further ado, let’s take a look at this week’s scoop!

Meet Our Mystery Guest: An Exclusive Interview!

Aunt Arctic: Hello, dear. I suppose I will start this interview by simply asking: how are you today?

???: I’m doing great, Aunt Arctic! Thank you for asking! I’m very excited to be here and share even more details about the Fashion Festival.

Aunt Arctic: That’s wonderful to hear! I believe you told me that you’re finally ready to come out of the shadows?

???: That’s right!

Aunt Arctic: Oh my! Why don’t you officially introduce yourself to everyone?

Dot: My name is Dot the Disguise Gal (she/they), but most penguins just call me Dot! I am a costume designer for the Stage. In my spare time, I also like to create the occasional costume for the Penguin Style or even parties!

Aunt Arctic: Well Dot, I must say it’s quite nice to not have to keep your identity a secret anymore. Penguins all around have been buzzing with excitement about what’s ahead. Can you tell us more about it?

Dot: Sure thing, ace! The Fashion Festival is quite a special party. Throughout the event, there will be seven different themes penguins can participate in. Once you submit your outfit relating to the theme, other penguins can vote for their favorites by giving likes!

Aunt Arctic: This all sounds marvelous! I hope the Gift Shop has everything penguins are looking for.

Dot: Well you see, the Gift Shop mainly focused on one of our seven themes: Fancy. The good news is, I’ve been carefully crafting a giant party catalog that will have clothes to help penguins create their best outfit from each theme. On top of that, penguins will be free to use whatever clothing they want for each theme! It can even be stuff that’s not currently on the island!

Aunt Arctic: That’s excellent news, it’ll be great to see penguins have such creative freedom with their designs! Now I’m sure many will ask so I’ll just do so right now, will they receive anything if they win?

Dot: You bet! 70 lucky penguins (the top 10 most liked outfits from each theme) will receive a stunning new exclusive pin, I hear it's even animated!

Aunt Arctic: I’m sure many will want to try and earn that! When can we expect the festival to begin?

Dot: There’s no set date yet, but if all goes smoothly we plan on starting sometime later this week. At the very latest, it’ll be sometime next week!

Aunt Arctic: I think I speak for everyone when I say, I can’t wait! Dot, thank you for a wonderful interview. Is there anything else you wish to share with us?

Dot: Actually, yes! I was talking to Rory, and he gave me permission to showcase a part of one of the rooms that will be decorated for the festival!

Aunt Arctic: I’ll be sure to include it in the article! Thank you very much again, and I wish you a wonderful Fashion Festival.

Dot: Right back at you, Aunt Arctic. Thanks for having me! I’m looking forward to officially meeting so many stylish penguins.

A little look at the Forest! Dot has informed me that the theme for this room is Fantasy! (The decorating committee told me that it is subject to some changes prior to the start of the party.)

Ask Aunt Arctic

Dear Aunt Arctic,

What’s the difference between the Gift Shop and Sports Shop? Can some sports items be in the Gift Shop as well?

- capitano

Dear capitano,

The Gift Shop unveils a new Penguin Style catalog once a month, typically towards the start of it! The outfits found in that catalog typically pertain to a party/event that is approaching or even just the time of year.

Meanwhile, the Sports Shop unveils a new Sports Catalog typically only twice a year. This usually happens towards every June and December, as that is when the Stadium switches between soccer and hockey. This catalog can also be found at the Stadium!

I believe the Penguin Style has occasionally had some sports related items, but the best place to look for them would be in the Sports Catalog! There’s even some sporty furniture in that catalog too!

Dear Aunt Arctic,

What’s your personal opinion on lobsters?

- lobsterdude

Dear lobsterdude,

You’ll be very pleased to know that I very much enjoy lobsters! Lobsters are not exactly familiar with our snowy island, but I always get a kick out of seeing some penguins wear the Lobster Costume from Underwater Adventure!

Speaking of which, in my personal opinion, Toby the Lobster is a highly underrated character in that play. He may be a bit grumpy, but he does a fine job at being an underwater parking attendant. Perhaps one day I’ll be able to see a true lobster, that would be incredible!

If you have a question about our snowy island, let me know! I’d love to hear from you.

That wraps up this week’s edition of Aunt Arctic’s Article! Thank you for stopping by, penguins. As with every Monday, new Community Events have been posted at the Lakeside! To those who attend any of these events, I hope you have a wonderful time!

Until next time… waddle on!
