I’m happy to announce that starting today, I am beginning a new weekly blog post series! Welcome to Aunt Arctic’s Article, your best source to read about news around the island! For quite some time now, I have been brainstorming on figuring out a way to provide information on current events for all of you lovely penguins. In this new era of blogging, I thought it would be a fun idea to give this a try! Without further ado, let’s get into this week’s news!

Cheers to Two Years!

‍

In case you have not yet heard, our 2nd Anniversary Party began yesterday! In fact, today is the official date for our anniversary! It’s been an incredible two years on our wonderful island, and only more memories can be made from here! Penguins all around have been heading over to the Coffee Shop to wear their new party hat with pride!

‍

In addition to this wonderful party, the Book Room and Lakeside have received permanent redesigns! I was able to speak to Rory on what led him to giving these places an upgrade:

“I always enjoy building, whether it’s something brand new or giving something that already exists an upgrade. With the Penguin Art Wall and Community Events returning, I felt that it was right to give these spots a makeover. The response to these changes has been quite positive, so that makes me feel very proud.” - Rory

If you wish to get more involved with the community, head on over to the Event Board at the Lakeside to submit a Community Event. If you’re an artist looking to showcase their talent, make sure you visit the Penguin Art Wall at the Book Room to submit your artwork!

Time for Tranquility!

‍

Those select few ninjas who have been able to conquer the rigorous journey that is Card-Jitsu: League, have uncovered a brand new location: Tranquil Falls! I was able to speak to Ninja herself and this is what she had to say:

“This was something Sensei promised us some time ago, but up until now it wasn’t quite ready to be explored. Now that it’s here, I couldn’t be more excited for everybody! Zen Puffles are such wise and peaceful creatures, so uncovering where they came from and learning their way of living is a real treat.” - Ninja

‍

Sensei has announced several improvements made to Card-Jitsu in an effort to welcome more ninjas to both the Ninja Hideout and Tranquil Falls. If you wish to get started, head on over to the Dojo!

Fancy Fashions Arrive This Week!

‍

Shortly after the party concludes, we have a brand new Penguin Style catalog arriving at the Gift Shop. I had the opportunity to speak to somebody who’s been working closely with the manager on the new styles. She’s chosen to remain anonymous for now. However, she did have this to say:

“This Penguin Style is gonna have some incredible new and fancy outfits for everybody! With these fresh looks, you’ll be ready to own the runway for an all new party I’ve been working on that begins later this month. There will be even more outfits to arrive when the party begins, so stay tuned!” - ???

‍

That’s all our mystery host had to say for now, but it sounds like we’re in for an entirely new party to kick off our third year on the island!

‍

I do have a love for books, reading is actually my favorite hobby! At the moment, there are two books in the Book Room: Rockhopper and the Stowaway and Franky’s First Show, both are great reads! One of them even has a neat little surprise at the end!

With the Book Room getting renovated, maybe we can expect to see some new stories in the near future! In the meantime, there’s always our new yearbook, with one for our first year coming soon!

Dear Aunt Arctic,

I am having trouble getting ideas for igloo designs. How do I find inspiration?

Dear Bearbones, 

‍

Igloo decorating is a lot of work! I personally stick with one igloo, and I only slightly decorate for Halloween or the Holiday season. However, I have been able to take a look at some incredible igloo builders and their creations.

‍

Based on what I gathered, it seems that the best way to get inspiration is to figure out what’s happening on the island. For example, the Earth Day Party was recently thrown on the island, and many penguins created Earth Day igloos to celebrate! There was even a contest for it as well. I wish you the best of luck igloo building!
